Holy Cross College and University Centre

£competitive Bury

Located close to the centre of Bury, Holy Cross College and University Centre has established a reputation as a high performing college, with a track record of excellent results and a sixth form population of around 2,000 that reflects the diversity of our nearby communities. Our growing University Centre also offers a range of undergraduate courses to approximately 500 students. With a strong Catholic ethos at the centre of everything we do, we strive to ensure an inclusive, caring learning environment, that focuses on the development and growth of the full person, as well as pursuing academic excellence.

It’s an environment where heritage and innovation co-exist: where we remain true to our values, while continually refining and improving our provision to ensure our students can develop the personal and academic skills they need to thrive in today’s world. We will look to our new Principal to provide visible leadership and guidance to staff, students and a wide range of stakeholders, and to work closely with governors to maintain and enhance the impact we make to our students’ lives. It’s a role that demands the ability to win confidence and trust quickly, and to lead with humility, drawing on the expertise and commitment of colleagues to enable our staff and our students to flourish.

This is a role with much to offer: a college that has already built momentum in its improvement journey; staff and governors that are wholly committed to creating a fantastic learning environment; a financially sound organisation that is looking to the future with confidence; and a place where you can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Please note that it is an essential requirement of the role that you are a practising Catholic, as defined in the document ‘Christ at the Centre’ by Mgr Marcus Stock.
